A Break is in Sight – Day 92
By Renee Bodkin
Monday. The last work Monday before Spring Break. 2 weeks off is coming. I am so grateful that I made it through Monday at work. I have work planned for the students this week although they are completely unmotivated and ready to start break now. Newsflash… I’m ready, too. Do they really think I want to read a book with them and explain said book and do reading comprehension and grade writing assignments? No. I don’t. But you do what you have to do. Someday maybe these kids will understand that. Just do what you have to do. And I kept reminding them – a break is in sight. 4 days left (I say). Since today they are already here so that doesn’t count anymore. 4 more early wake ups. A break is in sight and for that…. I am grateful.
I wish… oh how I wish we were heading off on a spring break vacation which we had talked about and started planning before the stupid C word hit our house. But everything for a reason. My sister is getting married at the end of our spring break so it works out. Instead we will spend some much needed time at home – resting, relaxing, getting stuff done around the house… hopefully we can get outside and enjoy some sunshine. And, hopefully… we can resume our vacation planning and maybe, just maybe, get away during summer vacation.
None the less, I am grateful that a “break is in sight”.
