April Showers Bring May Flowers – Day 115
By Renee Bodkin
I know it’s so cliche but it’s the only thing keeping me positive after 2, maybe 3, days of hard core rain. The hope of spring flowers and green trees. This is why I’m grateful for these dreary “April Showers”.
April Showers Bring May Flowers
Also grateful for the nostalgia of this cliche saying from years past. Have you ever felt that way? Maybe it’s something that your grandma said when you were little or a song your mom sang to you when you were sick or sad. Those little inside jokes that you have with your siblings and parents… they bring solace and comfort. If I see a Volkswagon Beetle when I’m not with my hubby and boys, I have to just smile because nobody would understand if I said, “Red one, Benjamin!” And they wouldn’t know to respond, “OWW!” Our own special version of “punch bug” because in a car with 3 active boys we decided that encouraging punching wasn’t a good option… so we devised our own version! We see a punch bug… call out the color and a name of a person in the car with us and they in turn have to respond “Oww!” Because they got “punched”. 🙂
Wow. I don’t digress or anything.
Somehow I think my awesome hubby should help me rename my blog something along the lines of “Ramblings of Renee” as there sometimes is no rhyme or reason to my ramblings. Just me sharing my scatterbrain thoughts.
Anyways… lots of rain this week but that’s okay because hopefully in a week or so… I can be grateful for May Flowers!
Ever the optimist, I am.
