Great Wolf Lodge – Day 19
Great Wolf Lodge – Day 19
by Renee Bodkin
Our family – including my sisters and their families (and Grammy and Gapa) – has been going to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, Ontario annually for what seems like forever. I believe this year was our fifth year – we went the first time just the 5 of us because I won a “trip” there for a radio contest. We always go in the winter because truly it’s awesome swimming and being in a 84 degree water park when you see snow falling outside!
The boys love it!! They have gotten to a point where they can go off on their own to this slide or that slide with a buddy (or brother or cousin). There are waterslides for toddlers on up to daring slides for bigger kids and adults! There is a wave pool, lazy river (a favorite for all), a climbing area, a ginormous 4 story treehouse play area called Fort Mackenzie, and more pools for fun water activities!! And, don’t forget the hot tubs. There’s a family hot tub and one for adults and an outdoor one for people over 16. This year was the first time I could go in the outdoor one (escape the kids for a few minutes) and I must say it was awesome with snow falling on our heads!! There is really water fun for all!!
The rooms are fantastic. Even the more generic room – the deluxe suite – is great. The boys enjoyed the Wolf Den Suite this year – bunkbed area for them to sleep. The whole place rooms and all is themed like the outdoors with log cabin-esque features. The lobby is so warm and inviting and a wonderland (especially at Christmas time) for the kids. Interactive, animated animals and a warm fireplace are the highlights!
We had a blast!!
And I am grateful for this family tradition of going to Great Wolf Lodge!
