Teamwork – Day 89
By Renee Bodkin
I am so very grateful for teamwork. Teamwork each and every day. Teamwork at work (school). Teamwork in Scouting. Teamwork at home. Teamwork in family. If it weren’t for the people in our lives, life would be even more messy and stressful. Today I was reminded of this Blessing of TEAMWORK as I showed up to St Raphael’s Parish Center to set up for tomorrow’s Cub Scout Blue and Gold dinner. As the committee chair and stand-in Cubmaster (since Mr Charlie aka my dad had foot surgery so he’s out of commission), I have a bunch to do to pull together the Blue & Gold Dinner and Arrow of Light Ceremony! So… set up. I show up and fortunately about 8 other families had someone there to help! It went so smoothly. We set up tables and chairs for 100 people. Decorated the tables. Made sure food tables were in place. Silverware was prepared. All this done in less than an hour – thanks to teamwork. And an added blessing was the representation from new and old families. In the past, it was often “the same people” doing all the work. I am so pleased that it was a full team effort from many families. Looking forward to tomorrow event — talk about teamwork — all the den leaders and parents who have helped the boys along their Cub Scout path! Can’t wait!
